After travelling to the trailhead we start trekking to Ghorapani. In order to acclimitise well, we ascend via a western route which allows you to also experience the sunrise at Poon Hill – a renowned viewing point for this range of the Himalaya, where we should see the Annapurna, Dhaulagiri and Machhapuchhare . A beautiful ridge walk takes us onto the trail which leads to the grand finale – Annapurna and Machhapuchhare Base Camps. This grand mountain amphitheatre has 360 degree views, so the most difficult decision you will make is which way to look! On return from the mountains you can relax and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere at the lakeside in Pokhara.

In Kathmandu you will have a chance to see the finest Newari architecture, experience the hustle and bustle of the medieval type markets and cobbled streets and most of all enjoy the hospitality of the wonderful Nepali people.  Annapurna Sanctuary Trip Notes
