Lower Mustang Family Trek
12 days, Grade B
A taste of Nepal with an introductory trek in the Himalayas….. This is a well chosen and very thoughtfully written itinerary for families to experience the splendors of the Himalayas and the cultures that have evolved in its harshes.
After a tour of Kathmandu including the Hindu pilgrimage site of Paspatinath and the Buddhist Stupa of Boudha, you will head west to Pokhara for a five day trek in the Annapurnas Region. A beautiful mountain flight lands you in Jomsom in the lap of the Himalayas where you are surrounded by some of the worlds tallest mountains. Though in the middle of these giants the terrain you trek on is surprisingly gentle for children as well as average walkers. The trail follows the upper Kali Gandaki Valley and some of its outlying villages providing magnificent vistas.
Back in Kathmandu, you have a free day to take an optional Everest view flight , additional sightseeing of UNESCO sites or shop and relax.
Highly recommended is the 3 day extension to visit Chitwan National Park for a walk on the wild side taking elephant safaris in search of Rhino, crocodile, Tiger and other great wildlife.
